Former chief minister and Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu described the 100 day administration of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as “terrorist rule” making use of police.

Mr Naidu said that the rule over the last 100 days has become a curse to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He held a constituency-wise review meetings at Kakinada on Friday. Later, he told the reporters in the evening that the state has never witnessed such cruel, dictatorial administration in the past and he had not seen such a vicious rule in his political career spanning more than four decades.

“Only during mythological ages did we understand the Rakshasas used to torment people in this manner. This is what the current government is doing now.”

He added that Mr Reddy is terrorising innocent people with the help of police who frame charges of atrocities and other criminal activities against people, particularly Telugu Desam workers. He alleged that fake atrocity cases were being foisted upon Telugu Desam leaders and cadre while the Chief Minister has completely neglected development of the state becoming totally vindictive.

Mr Naidu claimed that during his five year rule, there was double digit (14.5 per cent) growth rate achieved by the state despite all the handicaps. Now, the growth has slumped to five per cent. Work on all the projects in the state has come to a standstill.

He said that the Union government has released NREGS funds but the government has not spent the funds and it is posing danger of useless. He said that during his tenure, he fully utilised the NREGS funds taking up several projects and development works under the scheme.

He claimed that Jagan who does not know technical details of an irrigation project like cusecs or TMCs was destroying all institutions and agencies with his cruel rule.

Mr Naidu criticised police officials’ role in the governance. He said that it was the bonden duty of IAS and IPS officials to uphold the Constitution and protect the rule of law. But, they were acting like politicians at the behest of the ruling YSRC leaders. He said that the IPS officials should discharge their duty in a fair and impartial manner by honouring and giving respect to their uniform.

Mr Naidu described the leaders who are leaving the Telugu Desam as `cowards’ who have forgotten the sacrifices made by the party cadre. He said that such persons cannot become leaders who run away from their principles and support the opposition parties.
